Fluorometer
The Turner Designs Little Dipper In-line fluorometer is a low cost, compact fluorometer designed for monitoring and/ or control of fluorescent dyes in industrial water systems. The use of inhibitor with PTSA or Fluorescein fluorescent dye in the formulation, plus the Little Dipper fluorometer sensor, makes it easy for Walchem WebMasters' to measure and control the concentration

Little Dipper is an accurate, single channel, light industrial fluorometer which installs directly into process streams. It provides an analog signal output proportional to the concentration of the fluorophore being measured. The Little Dipper is a rugged, 24/7 sampling device that provides maximum performance, minimal maintenance and solid state reliability. It can be used with data collection systems such as the WebMasterONE to monitor and control the level of treatment chemicals for cooling tower and boiler applications
  • Simple calibration with the WebMasterONE
  • Simple installation, supplied with pre-wired isolator
  • Accurate in-line measurement of fluorescent liquids
  • Provides better control of treatment chemicals
  • Industrial water process control for cooling towers, boilers and others
  • Leak detection
  • Reverse osmosis
Little Dipper can be used with a data collection system to monitor and control the level of treatment chemicals in industrial applications. The sample water’s fluorescence intensity is measured by passing the sample water, containing the fluorophore of interest, past the Little Dipper’s optical window. An excitation light source illuminates the solution and excites the fluorophore in the solution which fluoresces at a different wavelength. The intensity of the emitted light is proportional to the concentration of the fluorophore in the sample of source water. Little Dipper has a low maintenance design that will provide trouble-free performance

Two sensors are available through Walchem. You can choose the PTSA sensor for a variety of applications including cooling towers. You can choose the Fluorescein sensor for a variety of applications including boilers

Typical installation for cooling tower

Typical installation for boiler (continuous sampling only)

bioler-fluorometer
Low cost
Fluorescent dye is very cost effective
Direct Measurement
Readings may be made directly on a continuous-flow sample or on an individual sample, without processing

Low Tracer Concentration
A fluorometer can detect tracer concentrations as low as 0.01 parts per billion (ppb). Detection would be impossible without a fluorometer

Durable and Compact
All parts are durable and easily combine within a Walchem control panel

Accurate
Fluorescent tracer techniques are so accurate that they are used to calibrate flow meters
Convenient
The low tracer concentration required makes handling the tracers much easier

Stable
The fluorescent dye chemistry is very stable
